Abdul Sattar Khan, age 83. The sweetest, kindest, most gentle and generous dad in the whole wide world passed away at his home on Friday, June 12, 2015. He leaves behind his devoted children, Joseph Jameel Khan (and wife, Suzy) of New Richmond, Ohio and Rasheeda Zamani Khan (and husband, David) of Columbus, Ohio; and five beautiful and brilliant grandchildren, Zyx, Tobias Sattar, Zara, David Sattar, and Charles Sattar. He is also survived by his brother, Ishtiaq Ali Khan; sister, Fareeda Sajjad (Majoobi), and Nieces Asia and Alia. Abdul was a pharmacist for over 40 years, retiring from Mt. Carmel Hospital and Lazarus Department Stores; and a graduate of Moslem University in Aligarah, India and The Ohio State University. His sole source of joy and fulfillment was taking care of and spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his free time, he would pour over his newspapers and money magazines - never missing a day of his Wall Street Journal and would pick up the weekly Barron's the morning it was out. In 1957, Abdul traveled from Rampur, Pakistan to attend The Ohio State University and made Columbus, Ohio his forever home. Although his family is heartsick, they are sincerely grateful to so many friends and strangers who routinely demonstrated patience and acts of kindness when interacting with him on his routine shopping trips with his daughter and beloved caretaker, Anne Dunford. Abdul's family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Amul India Restaurant, located at 5871 Sawmill Road, Dublin, Ohio 43017.
