Alice M. Haarup

Alice Marie Haarup, 86, of Columbus, OH, died Monday, July 30, 2018. She was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Stanley S. Radford in Saginaw, MI. Alice graduated from Michigan State University and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She married Dwight J. Haarup in 1962 and they celebrated 56 years of marriage June 14^th of this year. Alice moved to Columbus to work with Lazarus Department Stores. She loved gardening, baking, sewing and quilting and left Lazarus to raise her family. She had a strong sense of faith and was a long-time member of North Broadway United Methodist Church and TWIG. Alice enjoyed being a part of United Methodist Women, Altar Guild, teaching children’s Sunday school and working with the SERRV counter merchandise. Alice is survived by her husband Dwight J. Haarup and her two children Karen M. (Mike) Tocci of Columbus and Diane S. (Craig) Manche of Hilliard, OH. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Michael R. Tocci, Isabel J. Manche, Kyle M. Tocci and Luke C. Manche. A Memorial Service will be held 1:30p.m. SATURDAY, AUGUST 4, 2018 at NORTH BROADWAY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 48 E. North Broadway Columbus, OH 43214 where family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 12:30p.m. Refreshments will be available prior to the service. Rev. Marcus Atha and Rev. Wendy Hansen-Smith will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations may be made to North Broadway United Methodist Church as a memorial offering in Alice's name to be designated by her family.  The Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026 (614)-876-1722, assisted the family.
