Alphonse J. Sallett, 74, passed away December 23, 2014. Alphonse was born August 27, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Alphonse A. and Genevieve Sallett. He graduated from Albright College and received his Ph.D. from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University in 1993. He taught at Kirkland and Hamilton Colleges and for over 25 years was an excellent teacher of Sociology and Criminology at the New York State Institute of Technology Utica-Rome. He consulted with various organizations over the years. He was an avid artist working with various media including wood, stained glass and mosaic tiles. Alphonse, known as Fonze to many friends and family, is survived by his loving wife, Linda, daughter, Allison (David) Pond, three granddaughters and his sister Nancy (Kevin) Killen. He is preceded in death by his older sister, Gloria Adams. A memorial service will be held at TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026 on January 31st, 2015 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice.
