Alton "A.C." Montgomery

Alton C. “A.C.” Montgomery, age 87, of Hilliard, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at Altercare of Hilliard. Preceded in death by parents James Harlin and Mary (Murray) Montgomery, brothers Roderick Clark and James Clyde Montgomery, sisters Lucy Morris and Lura Morris, and daughter Kay Miller. Survived by loving wife of 67 years Theresa (Alder) Montgomery, sons Steve (Becky) Montgomery and Craig (John Sheppard) Montgomery, daughters Karen (Doug) Williamson and Kim (Mike) Sankey, son-in-law Dave Miller, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brother Carlos Cecil Montgomery. Born September 22, 1929. Graduated Hilliard High School class of 1949. Member and Deacon Alder Chapel Church. Former owner, Monty’s Sohio in Hilliard, retired National Training Manager of Bowes Seal Fast Corporation. Former President of Hilliard City Council, member of Hilliard Jaycees and Optimist, Norwich Township Volunteer Fire Department and Hilliard Athletic Boosters. Former board member of the Hilliard Historical Society former Docent at the Historical Village located at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Honored in 2015 as a “Volunteer of the Year” by The Lend A Hand Hilliard organization. Inducted in 2015 into the Hilliard Senior Citizen Hall of Fame. 54-year member and past Master of Avery Lodge and 51- year member of Scottish Rite, a 52-year member and past Patron of Level Chapter of the Eastern Stars, past Associate Guardian of Bethel #45 Job’s Daughters, organizer and Advisory member for the Hilliard Chapter of DeMolay. Friends may call Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, where funeral service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. Elder Arvil Murray officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Hilliard, OH. Masonic service will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
