Arlene Rose Ley, 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Nov. 25, 2018. Arlene was born in Elkhart, Indiana on June 26, 1925 to Evelyn and Russell Bennett. She attended St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN. In January 1946, she married Roger V. Ley and had 49 wonderful years together. They had three daughters, Kathy Elkins, Mary Lou Anderson and Carol McKinnon. Besides being a loving wife, mother and grandma, Arlene enjoyed playing bridge, golf, cooking, reading, needlepointing and traveling with her husband. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Russell; her husband Roger; two brothers Robert and Thomas Bennett; her sister Mary Weigand; and Son-in-Law Mark McKinnon. Arlene is survived by her brother Paul Bennett (Boulder City, NV), her sister Dorothy and husband Joe Westendorf (Leesburgh, IN), her three daughters Kathy and husband Jim (Scarborough, ME), Mary Lou and husband Bob (Chillicothe, OH), and Carol (Westminster, CO). In addition, Arlene had eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Spinney (Bruce): Catherine, Colin, Madeline from Grafton, MA; Adam Anderson (Sasha) from Providence RI; Will Anderson (Stephanie) from Caribou, ME; Ethan Anderson (Christina): Owen and Mallory from Hilliard, OH; Brandon McKinnon (Lauren): Jackson, Beckett from Minot, ND; Scott McKinnon (Amy) from Denver, CO; Zachary: Avery from Westminster, CO; and Emily Garcia (Antonio): Paxton from Fredrick, CO. The family would like to especially thank Capital City Hospice and the staff in the Memory Care Unit at the Dublin Sunrise Senior Living Center for their outstanding, loving care given to Arlene during her stay. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 am Thursday, November 29, 2018 at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Delaware.
