Art Plantz

Arthur Lewis Plantz Jr., age 81, of Hilliard, passed away on January 26, 2024. Born on June 7, 1942, in Hogsett, West Virginia, to the late Arthur L. and Annie (Erwin) Plantz.

Having relocated to Marion, Ohio, Arthur was a graduate of Pleasant High School. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1962, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Post-military service, he earned an Associate’s in Electronics Engineering Technology from Columbus Technical Institute, culminating a 25-year career in the cable television industry. In retirement, he kept busy as a Greeter and friendly face at The Andersons General Store.  A devoted member of Meadow Park Church of God in Columbus for 37 years, Arthur enjoyed woodworking, gardening, travel, and genealogy.

Survived by his wife, Dena (Vessels) Plantz, son David (Valerie) Plantz, grandchildren McKenna and Charlotte, siblings Howard (Marjorie) Plantz, Shirley Dietsch, and Sharon Plantz, along with nieces, nephews, and his aunt Dary Blankenship.  Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Annie Plantz, and sisters Barbara Snare and Patricia Plantz.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM at the Meadow Park Church, 2425 Bethel Road in Columbus, OH on Thursday, February 1st.  Funeral service to follow at 11 am. Burial at Dublin Cemetery.
