Avonell “Abbie” Smith, age 101, passed away February 1, 2024. Member of First United Methodist Church in Marysville. Graduate of Central High School, Columbus, OH. Preceded in death by parents Allen and Jessie Upperman, husbands Rev. Alfred Chapman 1976 and Kenneth W. Smith 2005, daughter Rebecca Sue Chapman, brothers Roy and Archie Upperman. Survived by stepsons Roger D. (Wanda) Smith and James W. Smith, niece Phyllis A. Upperman, nephews Greg (Diane) Chapman and Mitch Chapman. Family will receive friends Friday, February 9, 2024 from 11:30am-1pm at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where service will follow at 1pm. Private family interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
