Barbara Snyder

Barbara Snyder, a resident of Columbus for 50 years, passed away Friday the 18th of March, 2016 in her home in Hilliard, Ohio surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia, on August 1, 1943, daughter of Mary Wright and David S. Richie. Barbara spent her childhood years in nearby Moorestown, NJ. She graduated high school from Moorestown Friends School in 1961 and earned her college degree from Wilmington College in 1965 with a dual major in English and Psychology. Barbara spent 35 years of her working career with Franklin University, where she retired in 2014. In 2012, she was baptized at The Church Next Door in Columbus, OH, where she was a member. Barbara was wonderful and kind and was best known for her smile and sense of humor. Everyone loved her. She enjoyed jewelry making, quilting, and card making. However, her passions were gardening and being a grandma. She is survived by her sons, Craig Snyder and his wife, Robin and their daughters Amanda and Madelyn; Brad Snyder and his wife, Kristen and their children Lillie, Luke, Ruth, Benjamin, and Samuel; and sister Martha Richie and her husband Tim Bricker and their daughter Tessa. Friends may call Monday, March 21, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard, OH. Memorial service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at The Church Next Door, 5755 Feder Rd. in Columbus, OH, with calling 1 hour prior. Pastor Doyle Jackson officiating.
