Bettie L. Schwope

Bettie L. Schwope, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at The Forum at Knightsbridge. Bettie was born on January 20, 19XX in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Madeline and George Long. Bettie enjoyed her days previously working for Highlights for Children and Ohio Wesleyan University, College of Nursing. She enjoyed playing tennis and bridge and spent many hours volunteering. She also enjoyed the many friends she met at Rittenhouse Square. In addition to her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by her husband Arthur and daughter Mary. She is survived by her sons: Arthur (Martha) of Boston, MA, Richard (Deborah) of Tampa, FL, James (Theresa) of Plain City, OH, John (JoAnne) of North Hampton, NH; her daughters: Barbara Schwope of Columbus and Pat (Kent) Faulkner of Columbia, SC; also by her son-in-law John (Heather) Mathews of Sharon, CT; her 10 grandchildren and her 6 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 10:00a.m.-11:00a.m. THURSDAY, AUGUST 3, 2017 at ST. BRENDAN THE NAVIGATOR CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, OH 43026 where her Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation and begin at 11:00a.m. with Father Bob Penhallurick, Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
