Betty Barnes

Betty McKelvey Barnes, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. She was born and raised in Clintonville. Betty graduated from North High School and was an early member of North Broadway Church in Clintonville. Betty was a graduate of The Ohio State University in music and Miami Ohio University in elementary education. She taught music and elementary education for 26 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Waldo and Lessie Pletcher, husbands Myron McKelvey and Allen Barnes and brother William Pletcher. Survived by her children, William (Becky) McKelvey and Marjorie (Gary) Linn, grandchildren Melissa and Heather McKelvey, Alexander (Loretta) Linn and Mindy (Jim) Clesas. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 pm at TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. A private graveside will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Columbus.
