Betty Frances Lisk

Betty Frances Bynner Lisk, age 98, of Hilliard passed to her eternal reward Saturday, May 6th, 2017.  She was married to the love of her life, Harold C. Lisk, until he passed in 1985.  Betty had a love for learning and teaching, graduating as valedictorian of her class at Hilliard High School in 1936 and later from Capital University.   She taught for Hilliard City Schools for 35 years, much of it spent at JW Reason Elementary (1958-1984). Upon retirement, Betty kept active as a member of the Hilliard United Methodist Church (member since 1955), a member of the Hilliard Senior Center where she was in charge of the bridge club, founding secretary of the Hilliard High School Alumni Association, National Secretary of the 1918 club, and a docent at the Hilliard Historical Society. She is preceded in death by beloved parents Myrtle and Claud Bynner; siblings Donald (MaryLou) Bynner, Mary (Paul) Zwayer and Ned Bynner; brother-in-law Kermit Grener and daughter-in-law Nannette Lisk.  Betty is survived by sister Dorothy Grener; sons Rodger C. Lisk, Dr. Thom (Lorna) Lisk, Dr. Gregory (Ann) Lisk, and daughter Sally (Larry) Bryant.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, in her hometown of Hilliard, 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 11th.   The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hilliard United Methodist Church, 5445 Scioto Darby Rd., with visitation to begin 30 minutes prior.
