Betty Jean Patch

Betty Jean Salzgaber Patch, died at age 95, on February 4, 2023.  She was born on December 19, 1927.  She was preceded in death by her husband David W. Patch, Sr.  She is survived by her son, David W. Patch, Jr.. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.  Deceased are her father, Clarence Salzgaber, mother, Elsie Salzgaber, brothers, Clarence, Jr., Robert, Ralph, sisters Louise Foresman, Violet Lamb, Clara Olsen, and Mary Brush.  

She graduated from Hilliard High School, Class of '45, and received her Bachelor's degree at The Ohio State University, College of Business Adm in 1949. Betty worked at The Battelle Memorial Institute for 21 years. She later retired from Sears after 20 years in 1991.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Dublin, OH,  the Hilliard Ohio Historical Society, Dublin Historical Society, the Dublin Recreation Center , and the Hilliard Ray Patch Family YMCA. Betty was a member at the Metro V Fitness Center where she participated in water aerobics classes for 20 plus years.  She was an avid OSU football and basketball fan. 

A very special thanks to her longtime friend and helper Gail Kurz, and her Ashford table mates of Johnny and Winnie, for all the conversations shared.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Road, Dublin, OH, 43016 from 10-11 a.m., where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Adam Steinbrenner officiating.  Burial will be at the Forest Grove Cemetery, 8270 Cemetery Pike, Plain City, Ohio 43064. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church (Memorial Fund), or The Hilliard Ray Patch Family YMCA, or to the charity of your choice.
