Betty Petty

Betty Petty, age 77, passed away, November 8, 2006. Daughter of Hobart and Lilly Dummitt. Preceded by Husband Gordon Ray Petty. Survived by children, Tony (Chris) Thomas, Lana Terry, Steve Petty, Grandchildren, Lori (Bill) Peters, Angie Thomas, Zacharie Petty, Rachelle Petty and Mathias Petty, great grandchildren, Liam, Lauren, and Lia Peters. She and Ray were very active at the Fly Branch Church of Christ and then later in their life at the Black Oak Christian Church. Lana had moved from Florida in 2003 to live with Betty due to the advance in her Alzheimer’s condition. In May 2005, they moved to Columbus Ohio to share the burden of caring for Betty with her sons. During the week of Oct 16th Betty experienced a couple of strokes and was placed in hospice care until she passed quietly in the middle of the night. Visitation will be at the Black Oak Christiann Church on Saturday, Nov 11th from 12:00 to 2:00PM with the funeral service to follow immediately. The interment will be at the Lewis Co. Memory Gardens in Black Oak. Arrangements completed by the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Hilliard, OH.
