Bill Brehm, loving husband, father, brother and uncle passed away suddenly and peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 12, 2024. He was surrounded by his best friend and wife of 40 years Kima Brehm, daughter Corryn Brehm, brother Tom Brehm (Debbie) and sisters Jeanne Volk, and Eileen Rafferty. He will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, friends – particularly the Gibbons family, and neighbors, and co-workers.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio January 7, 1946 the son of the late William and Mary Brehm North Omsted, Ohio. He was a graduate of North Olmsted High School, North Olmsted, Ohio. He served in the Air Force as a jet mechanic in Okinawa, Japan during Viet Nam. He worked many years as a diesel mechanic for Great Lakes Diesel and later as a trainer for W. W. Williams Company and The Flxible Corporation. He changed careers later in life and worked as an AS-400 programmer for Pacer Global Logistics (XPO Logistics) until his retirement.
He had a passion for motor racing particularly Formula One and Indy cars. He was a former member of the SCCA and IMSA racing organizations and raced at Nelson Ledges, Watkins Glen and Mid Ohio Race Courses in the 70's. He loved classic rock and roll and enjoyed playing Blues guitar. He also enjoyed working on model cars and was an excellent cook.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in his name.
