Billy Ihrig, age 52, of Hilliard, passed away as a result of COVID-19 on Thursday, October 28, 2021. He was the Commander of William R. Schnug Memorial Post 614 and FOP Lodge #9. He s erved in the United States Marine Corps for 13 years and a Deputy Sheriff for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for 17 years. Preceded in death by father John Ihrig, grandparents Charles and Thelma Ihrig and Roger and Bernadine Williams. Survived by mother Wanda Sue (Steve) Wilson, domestic partner Nina Motter, children Amanda (Nick) Marquart, William Ihrig and Brandon Ihrig, John Parker, Kali Ihrig and Seth Benyo, grandchildren Rachel and Cameron Marquart, brother Aaron, numerous other loving relatives and friends. Family will receive friends Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where FOP service will follow. A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, November 5, 2021 with best friend Gene Fenneken officiating and Father Leo Connolly assisting with Franklin County Sheriff’s office and Marine Corps Honors.
