Bobby Doyle Blankenship, age 66 of Mt. Sterling died Sunday, January 10, 2010 in Chillicothe VA. He was born April 14, 1943 in Wayland, KY. He was the son of the late Roy and Glessie (Taylor) Blankenship.
Mr. Blankenship served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jessie and Freddie; sister, Alice.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; children, Bobby (Tina) Blankenship of Grove City, Teresa Blankenship of Mt. Sterling, Chris (Karen) Blankenship of Grove City, Melissa Blankenship of Mt. Sterling, Brett Blankenship of Grove City; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Joey, Jeremy, Holly, Gonovan, Sarah, Michael, and Courtney; great grandchild, Abbigail; sister, Mary Beth Tackett of Prestonsburg, KY.; nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. James Blankenship officiating with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. A military service will be performed by the Circleville Amvets Post #2256 at the grave site. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 13th from 4 – 7 p.m.
