Brady Erwin, age 86, of Columbus, passed away December 4, 2024. Born in Beauty, KY and raised in Lando Mines, WV. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Marshall College (University) in 1960. After graduation Brady enlisted in the Army and served at Fort Knox. He spent his entire professional career with the State of Ohio Department of Taxation. Brady loved sports and enjoyed playing softball and bowled in a number of leagues where he earned several trophies for bowling perfect games. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and was an avid reader. Married to Janice (Oliver) on October 3, 1964. Preceded in death by parents Van and Rebecca Erwin; brothers: Bernard Erwin, Charles Erwin, and Robie Erwin; sisters: Audra Erwin, Anna Mae Hatfield, and Dixie Erwin. Survived by Wife of 60 years, Janice; daughters: Christine & Anthony Smith and Stacie & Todd Ferrell; grandchildren: Tyler & Katie Smith, Darby Smith, Zachary Erwin, Kaitlyn & Nate Algar and AJ Ferrell; great-grandchildren: Fox and Phinneas Algar; and grand fur babies: Gunner Smith and Buttercup Ferrell; brothers: Hershel (Lucille) Erwin, Bruce (Pat) Erwin, Van, Jr. (Earlene) Erwin, Doug (Karen) Erwin, and Scott (Anita) Erwin; sisters: Toni Rose (Michael) Cozmyk, and Donna Sue (Ira) Simpkins; brother-in-law: Gary & Cyndi Oliver; sister-in-law: Sheila Erwin and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm, Monday, December 9, 2024 at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. Further arrangements will be handled in West Virginia.
