Carl F. Cooper, age 73, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Carl a machine shop supervisor in the Agricultural Engineering Building at The Ohio State University for 35 years before his retirement. He was an active member of the Buckeye Miata Club for 23 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Vietnam War from January, 1964-January, 1968. While in the Navy, Carl served aboard the USS Laffey, DD724. He was preceded in death by his father Clinton F. Cooper, his mother Marguerite Hannum, his brother Daniel E. Cooper and his brother-in-law Michael Gibbons. Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Lynda L. Cooper, his sons: Christopher (Maria) Cooper of Indianapolis, IN and Bryan (Cheryl) Cooper of Westerville, OH; his siblings: Phyllis (Joe) Shipley of Cincinnati, OH, Marilyn Ashcraft of Marietta, OH, Sharon (Rick) Mayfield of St. George, UT, Ted (Debbie) Hannum of Newark, OH, Steve (Diane) Hannum of New Bern, NC and Charlotte Gibbons of Marysville, OH; his grandchildren: Alexandria Bryane Cooper and Ronan Christopher Cooper; special family friends: James and Wendy Ray of Hilliard, John and Mona Ray of Westerville, Mikeala M. Ray of Westerville, Sarah E. Johnson of Lithopolis, OH and Justin C. Johnson of Lithopolis.
