Carl Norris

Carl M. Norris, age 88, of Hilliard, passed away July 20, 2011 at the Laurels of Hilliard. Born April 3, 1923 in Worthington, OH. Adopted by the late Clara (Orders) and Wm. (Billy) Norris as a baby. Retired from Conrail with 42 years of service. Served his country during WWII with the 17th Airborne, participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the Rhine River; where he received the Bronze Star. Has been a member of Post 105 American legion, London, OH for 25 years. Also, preceded in death by foster stepmother Estelle and grandson Brent Norris. Survived by loving wife of 65 years Marilyn J. (Stamper), sons Bradley W. of Hilliard and Brian M. (Cherie) of AZ, daughters Patricia (Robert) Groves of London and Lana Wirth of Iowa, grandsons Rob, Carl, Jerry, Brett and Michael, granddaughters Briana, Tammy and Tracy, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson sand 2 great great step grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday 6-8 pm at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
