Carl T. Salyers, age 93, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016. Born in Johnson County, KY to the late Alka and Dedie Salyers, Carl was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II where he stormed the beaches of Normandy and saw battle in the Northern France and Rhineland Theaters. Carl received the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in France. He retired from Amteko Industries as Vice-president of Plant Operations. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, his son-in-law James R. Henderson and his grandson Wesley L. Henderson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Martha Jean Salyers; his daughter Georgine Henderson; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law Brian and Carrie Henderson; great-granddaughter Kayla (Justin) Dillahunt; and his sisters Betty and Opal and their families.
