Carol J. Butler

Carol J. Butler (72), of Galloway, OH passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023.  Carol was born in Shaler, PA on May 24, 1951 and adopted to Herbert and Alma (Ludwig) Zeh.  She is survived by her children, Robert (Somer) Butler and Karen Butler; her granddaughters, Ava and Grace Butler; and her best friend Denise Smulsky.  Carol was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt Ruth Ludwig.

Carol earned her R.N. from Shadyside Hospital Nursing School and she practiced nursing as a career.  She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Columbus, OH and earlier, she was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, PA.  She particularly enjoyed attending the Civic Light Opera when she could.  She loved her pets Stewie, Rachel, Jillian and Gertrude very much.  She also loved the beach.  You would find her often at Lake Erie’s shores.  Carol was a compassionate, loving and caring person.  Her selflessness was a legacy for all who were blessed by her.   She left us too soon and will be sorely missed.
