Carol F. Fogarty

Carol Frances (Verhovitz) Fogarty, age 81, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away at home on Monday, August 28, 2017.  Born in Cleveland to the late Edward Verhovitz and Caroline Corlett, she was a graduate of James Ford Rhodes High School, Class of 1954.  She attended The Ohio State University and Mt. Carmel College of Nursing. Carol retired from Nationwide Insurance after many years in Human Resources.  She was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church for over 50 years.  While she was multifaceted, Carol was above all a mother, a grandmother and the foundation for her family.  Her life may have been shortened by AML, but her undefeatable courage and strength live on through her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 55 years, and her brother, Edward Vernon of Clearwater Fl. She is survived by her children: Stacy Dodd, Julie (Paul) Melaragno and Daniel Fogarty; grandchildren: Mitchell and Daniel Dodd, Annie and Max Melaragno, Macallan and Rhonen Fogarty; her brother Robert Vernon of Honolulu HI, and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at Noon at the Chapel of Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 North High Street, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035 with Deacon Don Poirier officiating.  The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 11:30am.
