Carol Ann Beese Kern. Born 11/28/37. Died 01/28/18. Second child born to Albert & Helen Beese, big sister Norma Gilbert (Richard). Children Daniel Scott Kern and Karen Muntzing (Brook). Carol graduated from Oberlin High School in 1955. She attended Kent State for two years. She worked in title agencies, for Diebold, for insurance agencies, and for Oberlin College. Carol was an impeccable craftswoman, whether making miniatures, refinishing furniture, or rehabbing houses. She was a loving mother, always involved in her children’s lives, and seldom “too” involved. She loved her grandchildren, Caelie Kern and Sarah Muntzing a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. Carol was a loyal friend and had numerous relationships that had endured since childhood. She moved to Hilliard Ohio in June 2016 to be closer to Karen and family. Nieces Pat Clough (Tom Matovich) and Tammy Gilbert, and great-nephew Cody Gilbert survive Carol as well as those aforementioned. Carol is predeceased by her parents and nephews David, Jeffrey, and Michael Gilbert. An ovarian cancer diagnosis in September 2017 irreparably altered Carol’s physical health until her death. Her spirit and love for her family never wavered. Cremation and inurnment will take place at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard, Ohio and a memorial service in NE Ohio will celebrate Carol’s life.
