Carolyn Christianson

Carolyn Giboney Christianson (79) of Friendship Village Dublin, Ohio, passed from this life to her eternal home with the Lord on August 19, 2023.  Carolyn was born July 14, 1944 to Raymond Earl Giboney and Beulah Wiant Giboney, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 47 years, Donald Morgan Christianson.

She is survived by her son, Sven Christianson (Rebecca) and grandchildren, Simon, Anders, Naomi; her son, Thor Christianson (Dijana) and grandchildren, Nikola, Natalia; and her daughter, Sonja Talamine (Ken) and grandchildren, Dominic, Arianna. Her family includes her sister, Mary Kay Haden (Dick); her nephew, Jeffrey Haden and niece, Jo Ellen Walden; sister-in-law, Marla Holle; her nephew Todd Holle (preceding her in death) and niece, Joan Holle Long and many others whom she loved.

Carolyn was a 1962 graduate of Williamsville Central School, NY; and of The Ohio State University, both for her Bachelor of Science in Education (1966), and Master of Arts (1989).

Carolyn was also a beloved teacher and encouraging friend. She spent most of her teaching career in Hilliard City Schools where she inspired middle school students in language arts. She was a talented musician and enjoyed serving as Children’s Music Director at Hilliard United Methodist Church. Her artistry and passion for teaching continued even after she retired, giving piano and voice lessons to students of all ages for more than 40 years.  

A celebration of life service will be held SATURDAY, AUGUST 26th at noon at Northwest Chapel, 6700 Rings Rd., Dublin, OH 43016. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or after the service during the reception.
