Carolyn Webb

d. July 8, 2011

The family of Carolyn Louise Webb is sad to announce her passing on July 8th, 2011. Carolyn passed away peacefully at Ogeechee Area Hospice (Statesboro, GA.) with her children at her side.

Carolyn is missed by children Beverlee (Terry) Loat, Edmonton, Canada; David Brian (Jerrie) Lance, Dover, Florida; and Cara (Bill) Carpenter, along with grandchildren Christian, Brianna and Bryce, Washington Court House, Ohio; special cousins Jerri, Doris & Gary, Karen & Chris, Mary Jane; and all of her extended family.

Carolyn was known for her outstanding generosity, boundless energy, independence and determination. These characteristics were ever present as she faced recurring cancer over the past eight years. Her courage and optimism never wavered and, as such, was a huge inspiration to all around her.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Ruth Toops, and her sister, Joan Pollock. Carolyn grew up in the Mt. Sterling area and in mid-life was a proud employee of The Ohio Willow Wood where she made many friends who remained close to her after retirement. Upon retirement, Carolyn moved to Southern Georgia to be near daughter Cara and grandchildren. For the past ten years she was busy with gardening, taking care of four dogs and fortunate stray animals that showed up along the way; and enjoyed many good times with her dear neighbors and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, a graveside memorial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling. The family is being served locally by the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling, Ohio.

As love of animals was such an important part of her life, donations in her memory to The Humane Society US would be a fitting tribute to Carolyn.
