Chad Flowers, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at age 40. Chad is preceded in death by his twin daughters, Hope and Faith; his paternal grandparents, Marvin Flowers and Elizabeth Browning and maternal grandparents Herman and Frankie Addis. He is survived by his wife, Jackie and three children, Makenzie, Emma and Benjamin. Mother and Father, Janet and Marvin “Gary” Flowers, sister, Michelle (Ron) Johnson, Niece, Rachel Lager, Mother-in-Law, Christine Gohring; Father-in-Law, Mark Gohring, Sisters-in-Law Katelyn Gohring and Andrea (Bob) Goodlive and Nephews Robert, Gage and Cole; his most loveable dog, Buckeye; as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
Chad was a graduate from Upper Arlington High School in 1997, and The Ohio State University with a degree in landscape architecture in 2002. Chad designed many popular landmarks while working for the private sector, he was most proud of Hillard Station Park and the BriHi Square Fountain in downtown Dublin. He began in city work at Canal Winchester and moved to the City of Marysville in 2015 as a City Planner. Chad was very passionate about his role in the community.
Chad was extremely instrumental in many areas for the city of Marysville over 4 years and he was involved in updating the city’s comprehensive plan and uptown revitalization. Colleagues said that Chad was very well respected and that they “had never seen anyone accomplish the magnitude of projects, the way Chad was able to accomplish in the short time he was with the City of Marysville.”
He was married for almost 14 years to the love of his life and enjoyed vacations, adventures and spending time with friends and family.
His three children were the most important things in his life above all. He coached little league baseball and soccer and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them hiking, swimming, camping.
He always looked forward to his frequent lunches was his parents in Marysville.
Every person that ever came in contact with Chad felt that they just met a new friend. He could brighten up every room and left this world better than he found it.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. TUESDAY at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017 (Reception of the Body Prayer Vigil will be held at 1:45p.m.) Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00a.m. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 2019 with The Reverend Monsignor Joseph M. Hendricks, Celebrant. Private family burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH.
