Charlene Beidel

Charlene J. Beidel, age 76, of Columbus, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. Born March 9, 1935 in Columbus, OH. She lived most of her life in Columbus, OH and Miami, FL with 5 years in Colmar, France. Graduate of West High School, Class of 1953. Member of Auxiliary Franklin County Chapter of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, Sea Gals Auxiliary of the Columbus Sail and Power Squadron, Columbus Ski Club, Sea Nags Underwater Diving Club, and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. She enjoyed water skiing; traveling all over Europe, snow skiing all over the U.S., Canada, and Europe, especially the Swiss Alps; fishing and boating on Lake Erie; visiting and collecting lighthouses all over the U.S.; collecting beer steins in Germany; riding motorcycles; tennis, bike riding; and playing cards with the Ridgewood Card Group. Preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Gladys Nance. Survived by loving husband of 54 years, Herbert A. Beidel Sr.; son, Herbert (Stephanie) A. Beidel Jr.; 2 step-grandchildren, Savannah and Caleb. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM Wednesday, June 29th at THE TIDD FUNERAL HOME 5265 Norwich St. Hilliard, OH 43026 with William Brake officiating.
