Charles "Al" Willbarger

Charles Alan “Al” Willbarger passed away June 9, 2023 at the age of 74 in Ormond Beach, Florida. Originally from Hilliard, Ohio, Alan battled complications from bladder cancer throughout this past year and was surrounded by family his last few days when treated by Halifax Hospice Care.

Alan was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He married his high school sweetheart, Connie (Grenell) in April of 1968, and she survives. He is also survived by daughter Tamie (Russell) Martin of Woodstock, CT and Thomas (Juli) Willbarger of Hilliard, OH. For 5 years, Alan was lucky enough to live next to his two granddaughters Sarah Mae Willbarger and Tess Marie Willbarger, whom he always loved to tease. Connecticut grandchildren include Zach (Karlee) Martin, Kate (Anthony) Consolmango, Alicia Martin and great grandson, Calan Consolmagno.  Alan had one sister, Linda (Ron) Odom of Lancaster, OH and many cousins, nieces and friends.  

Alan was preceded in death by his father Frances Willbarger, mother Margaret Williams and step father Richard Williams.

Al spent 30+ years as a concrete mason in Columbus, OH and retired in 2012. Alan and Connie spent the last four years in Ormond Beach cruising with the top down in his 2006 Red Corvette- his prized possession.

Family and friends will be invited to a Celebration of Life that will be scheduled in mid August.
