Charles Ellis

Charles W. Ellis, age 75, of Columbus, formerly of West Union, OH, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital. He was a retired school teacher, funeral director and mortician. He was an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of West Union H.S., Morehead State University, Xaviar University, and The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Helen Young Ellis and nephew, Michael Porter. He is survived by loving wife of 39 years, Sharon Dixon Ellis; sisters, Mary Dee (Herb) Porter of West Chester, OH and Nancy (Arthur) Thacker of Manchester, OH; mother-in-law, Ione Dixon; brothers-in-law, Randy (Loretta) Dixon of Springboro, OH and Dennis (Penny) Dixon of West Union, OH; 11 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; 2 great-great nieces; along with other family and friends who mourn his passing. Charles loved his family. He also loved to travel and enjoyed watching sports. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mt. Carmel West Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital for their exceptional care.
