Charles M. Lewis

Charles M. Lewis, age 88, of Plain City, passed away January 4, 2012. Retired Norwich Twp. Fire Chief. Born in Plain City August 16, 1923 to E. Milton and Marie (Moran) Lewis. Preceded in death by parents, first wife Betty (Cramer) Lewis and son Benson B. Survived by wife Joann G. Lewis, children Charles E. (Cathy) of PA and Janis (John) Eger of Plain City, step son Steve (Diane) Lanthorn of Richwood, daughter-in-law Debra Lewis of Plain City, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter,. Army Veteran of WWII, 1941 graduate of Hilliard High School, 50 year member of Avery Lodge #493 F.&A.M., life member VFW Post 3426 and American Legion Post #614. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2236, life member Ohio Fire Chief Association and owned and operated Lewis Radio & TV service for over 20 years. Family will receive friends 2-5 pm Sunday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 11 am Monday with Rev. Larry Baker officiating. Interment Forest Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct., Hilliard, OH 43026.
