Charles Arland Pitman, age 83, passed Wednesday, April 26th, at 11:35am at Darby Glenn Nursing Home in Hilliard, Ohio.
He was born April 21, 1935 in Pleasantville, Iowa to Charlie Arland Pitman and Leona Rodgers Pitman. He married Marlene Mae Ryan Pitman and started a family. They eventually moved to Columbus, Ohio with their children. Later in life, he married Linda Louise Pitman of Greenfield, Ohio where they began their life together. He is preceded in death by Linda, who he will be laid to rest beside.
Survivors include two daughters, Cristi Parikh of Chicago, Illinois and Sherry McClaskie of Punta Gorda, Florida, and two sons, Bradley Ryan Pitman of Dublin, Ohio and Tim Pitman of Westerville, Ohio. He had six grandchildren, BJ McClaskie, McKenna Pitman, Chase Pitman, Bryndley Pitman, Nicholas Parikh and Lucas Pitman; one great-grandchild Nola McClaskie; one sister, Norma Love of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and one brother, Ardean Pitman of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Charles was a United States Army veteran and a retired Truck Driver.
He was born on a farm in Pleasantville, Iowa where he has stories of how he “broke horses” and plowed fields. He was a big fan of Nascar and had a few favorite drivers that he loved to follow.
Charles will be laid to rest in Greenfield Cemetery. Funeral services will be held grave side, privately with family.
