Charles Clifford Ryan Jr.

Charles Clifford Ryan Jr. (Kip), age 91, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.  Charles was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Margaret and Charles Ryan on December 22, 1932.

Kip absolutely loved growing up in Grandview and spending time with family and friends at Buckeye Lake, he graduated from Grandview High School in 1951, and afterwards went on to study at Ohio University as well as The Ohio State University.  He eventually joined and served in the United States Air Force and later retired from the State Library System of Ohio after many hard working years. He enjoyed spending his retired years meeting up with his buddies, his church coffee group and attending Grandview alumni lunches.  Kip was an incredibly loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all he met. He was so loved and had so much love to give, he will be missed by so many,

Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Ryan Sr. and Margaret Blatt Ryan, sister JoAnn Ryan Carr, In-Laws, Edward William Tharp & Arcie Whitehouse Tharp and numerous brother & Sister-in-laws from both the Tharp and Carr families.

Kip is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Rheta Ryan, his children, William C. (Kip) Ryan (Diana), Tamara (Tammy) Smith (Rusty), and Tracy Adkins (Kurt), grandchildren, Stacy Smith Haggy (James), Russell Smith (Jessica), Spencer Smith (Ashley Lenhardt), William Smith, Ryan Adkins, Hunter Adkins, Blake Adkins and Shaun McBride (Monica), great grandchildren, Arcie & Addie Barnhill and Noah, Samuel, Bridget & Rachael Haggy as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends for visitation and funeral service on Wednesday, July 3rd, at the Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio, 43026.  The visitation will begin at 10:00am and end at 12:00pm to begin our service.  Following the service we will process to Forest Grove Cemetery.
