Charles "Rick" Shaeffer

Charles “Rick” Shaeffer, 70, of Columbus went home to the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Doctors West Hospital in Columbus. He was a longtime member of Cypress Church Alton Darby Campus. 

Rick was a retired carpenter who grew up in Lancaster, Ohio. He loved music, cooking, his family, friends, and faith. His pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his daughter, Rachael (TJ) Cernus of Pickerington; son, Chris (Erika) Shaeffer of Gahanna; daughter, Magdelena Shaeffer of Hilliard; 3 granddaughters, Aubrey, Kiera and Veronica; grandson, Brennen; brothers-in-law Tony Stevens and Riccardo Geuvara; and niece, Tracy (Mike) Cadieux. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Virginia Shaeffer, brothers Robert and Christopher Shaeffer; sister, Carol Stevens; infant daughter, Elizabeth Shaeffer; and nephew, Buddy Watt.  

Rick’s family would like to express their gratitude to family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time. In honor of Rick’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later time at his favorite place, Clear Creek. Information to be relayed at a later date.
