Charles Thornton, Jr.

Charles Allen Thornton, Jr., age 83, of Hilliard, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009. Graduate of West High School. U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving on the U.S.S Naval ship Sanders D.E. 40. Retired from Westinghouse with 35 years of service. He enjoyed poker and the love of gardening that he passed on to his children. Survived by loving wife Jane of 60 years, proud father of his children, Nancy McCormick, Karen (Larry) Smith, Chuck (Robin) Thornton and Daren Thornton, grandchildren Terry, Jennifer, Ruby, Catie, Daniel, and Zach, great grandchildren Molly, Michael and Bradlynn, and many loving relatives and friends. There will be no services.
