Charlotte K. Jones

September 8, 1925 — August 21, 2024

It’s with great sadness that the family of Charlotte (Koons) Jones of Hilliard, Ohio announces her passing on August 21, 2024. Charlotte was born on September 8, 1925, on the Hilltop and resided in the Westgate area for 38 years before moving to Hilliard. 

Preceded in death by husband Robert Lee (Bob) Jones, sons-in-law David Lee Jones,( Megan) and Vaughn Moray (Ray) Wellman, (Melanie). 

Survived by daughters Megan Lee Martin and Melanie Ann Wellman, grandson Retired Commander Dustin Lee Martin, grandsons Jack and Ben Martin from Lewis Center. Step-grandson Morgan Wellman (Melissa) of Plain City and great granddaughter Kaylee Obney of Canal Winchester and many nieces and nephews. 

Charlotte was an Honor Society Member at West High School, Class of 1944, where she met Bob and they were married for 51 years.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and various forms of stitchery and gardening. She and Bob traveled extensively across the United States, Canada and Mexico. They enjoyed boating on the Ohio River and especially boating on Lake Erie. Charlotte worked off and on as Bob’s secretary for the Capital District Council of Carpenters. She volunteered at the Hilliard Senior Center and the Hilliard Library for many years. 

At Charlotte’s request no services will be held. 

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Norwich Springs Health Campus of Hilliard and Echo Hospice for taking such good care of our mother. 

Also a special thank you to neighbor Sue Harvey for always being there over the years.
