Christopher "Chris" J. Gage

Christopher J. Gage (Chris) passed away at the age of 71 in Dublin, Ohio on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Chris was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on May 22, 1945. Chris was the middle child of Kathryn Parmentier Gage and Robert L. Gage. Chris was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan and graduated Ann Arbor High School before attending Michigan State University where we met his wife, Kathryn Mary French (deceased January 31, 2012). In 1968, Chris and Kathy gave birth to their son Robert French Gage and in 1974 to daughter Elizabeth Kathryn Rezza. Chris was devoted to various passions throughout his life. In 1969, Chris joined the US Army which led to one tour in Vietnam in 1970. After an honorable discharge at the rank of 1st Lieutenant, he returned home from service to obtain his MBA from the University of Michigan and started what was to become a long and successful banking career which began in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 1987, Chris moved with his family to Columbus, Ohio where he resided for the last 29 years. Chris is survived by his two children, Robert Gage (Ann Arbor, MI) and Elizabeth (Gage) Rezza (Mendham, NJ); his two sisters Roberta and Diana; 5 grand-children, and many friends. Chris was an exceptional golfer, loved to be on the water and later in life found passion in mountain hiking in California. His charismatic nature brought joy and laughter to friends and family. In accordance with his wishes, Chris’ ashes will be spread in Nichols Arboretum, a nature preserve where he spent long summer days in his youth.
