Clance Edgington, age 67, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus and gained his heavenly victory on Sunday June 21, 2020 after having fought and defeated cancer several times since 2007.
"The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him,
and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him."
Psalm 28:7
He is survived by devoted wife of 33 years, Denise, and beloved sons, Ben and Michael Edgington. Clance was the third of ten children born to Byron and Mary Edgington, now deceased. His loving siblings are Michael (Karen) Edgington, Byron (Mariah) Edgington, Joe (Pam) Edgington, Molly (Peter) Gaide, Theresa Edgington, Rita (Tony) Thomas, Peggy (Gary) Tucker, Patti (Larry) Knauer and Paul (Susi) Edgington. Clance was adored and embraced by his now deceased step-mother, Madalene Edgington, and her entire family. Denise’s siblings who were like siblings to Clance are Lynn Lovenshimer, Bob (Marian) Lovenshimer and David (Lee) Lovenshimer plus sixteen wonderful nieces and nephews with special shout out to very capable and caring nephew Stevie Seciliot for his care of his Uncle Clance during chemotherapy treatments. Being surrounded by friends and family in his last months brought Clance great peace.
Clance was a 1972 graduate of Whetstone High School. He was an active member at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship for over ten years. He was a humble, reliable, patriotic, hardworking family man whose reliance on our Lord made him seem to be built of bricks. Clance was a man who knew first-hand the grace of God and would share that readily with us at each earthy victory. Now he knows that grace in the very presence of God. Maybe heaven has golden bike paths and woodworking shops! His dry wit, concise insights and genuine love will be missed by all who were blessed enough to call him friend. Our only regret is just not enough time with him.

In lieu of flowers Clance’s wish was donation toward his sons’ college fund which can be sent c/o Denise Edgington to Tidd Funeral Home 5265 Norwich Street Hilliard OH 43026. A private family service will be held at Union Cemetery with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date. Arrangements completed by the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Hilliard, OH.
