Claude Fredrick Dietz

Claude Fredrick Dietz, age 93, of Hilliard, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014. Member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, OH and attended UALC at Mill Run. He was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge. Retired from Hanna Coal/Consol Energy with over 30 years of service. 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the American Legion in St. Clairsville, OH. Preceded in death by parents Benjamin and Leona Dietz. Survived by loving wife of 67 years, Margaret, children Kathy (Gary) West of Greenwood, SC and James (Joyce) Dietz of Columbus, OH, sisters Lena Robertson and Mary Gambill, both of Sullivan, IN, grandchildren Brian (Caola) Rood, Kelly West, Kasey West, Ben (Allyson) Dietz, Megan (Adam) Bigham and Connor Dietz, great granddaughter Chloe, numerous loving relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 3-6 pm Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, February 15, 2014. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
