Clinton Rhodes

Clinton E. Rhodes, age 90, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Born September 18, 1926 in Huntington, WV to the late Leondas Polk and Clara Leota Rhodes. Proudly served in the U.S. Army, Air Force and Marine Corps during WWII and Korea. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 495, The Military Order of the Cootie, and The Forty & Eight. He enjoyed spending time with the Veterans. He often brought them gifts, such as homemade buckeyes, socialized with them, and distributed toys to the children. He also was a dedicated OSU Buckeye, Cincinnati Reds, and Bengals fan. Preceded in death by wife, Minnetta May Rhodes; siblings, infant brother, Dorothy Schlicher, Richard Rhodes, and Leota Fay Williams; niece, Donna Jo Harper, and great niece, Maegan Schlicher. Survived by nieces and nephews, Shirley (John) Berger, Randy Williams, Patricia (Jerry) Schwab, Penny (Sam) Blackwell, Robert (Dianne) Schlicher, Bill (Sherry) Rhodes, Bob Rhodes, and John (Chun) Shoaf; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday, November 11, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3500 Main St. in Hilliard, OH. Pastor Libby Buuck officiating. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH. Friends who wish may contribute to VFW or Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church.
