Clinton W. (Bill) Trapp, age 88 of Mt. Sterling died Monday, December 22, 2014 in Fayette County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 19, 1926 in Franklin County. He was the son of the late Elvin and Ona (Whiteside) Trapp.
Bill was a retired farmer and truck driver. Past member of Ohio Valley Antique Tractor Pullers Association and Ohio State Antique Tractor Pullers Association. He loved working outdoors in his garden. Bill served in the US Navy during World War II and served on the USS Tennessee, USS Delta, and USS Foss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl; sisters Lillie Trapp and Lucille (Raymond) Feasel.
Survived by daughter, JoAnn (Paul) Azbell of Williamsport; sons Donald (Beverly) Trapp of Grove City, Lewis (Mary) Trapp of South Bloomfield, Joseph Trapp (Sabrina Colburn) of Amanda; 8 grandchildren which includes Brian (Sharon) Trapp, Ryan (Valerie) Trapp, Amy (James) McNeal, Rex (Emily) Reisinger, Casey Reisinger, Rob Reisinger, Kaelan Lester-Trapp, Christopher Ryan Daniels; 20 great-grandchildren; sister Donna (O'dean) Kearce; brothers Elzie Trapp and Pearl Lewis (Virginia) Trapp; numerous nieces & nephews; and his faithful companion, Kyle.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Rev. Gerald Kraus officiating with the interment following in Darbyville Cemetery. A military service will be performed by the Circleville Amvets Post #2256 for the World War II veteran. The family will receive friends from 10 am until time of service beginning at 1:00 pm.
