Constance Yee

January 19, 1939 — March 11, 2025

Constance Jeane Yee, 86, passed away peacefully in her home on March 11, 2025. Born on January 19, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, Connie lived a vibrant and full life, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and passion.

Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, King Yee; her son, Jeff Yee; her parents, Harold and Nedra Simendinger; and her son-in-law, Mark Eubanks. She is survived by her daughters, Keli Yee Eubanks and Tracy Powell; her son-in-law, Jeff Powell; and her cherished grandchildren, Jade Eubanks, Amber Stoots, Kris Powell, Grace Powell, Alyssa (Daniel) Huddleston and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stoots, Lexi Stoots, Daniel Huddleston and Lucas Huddleston.

Connie’s warmth extended beyond her immediate family, as she was lovingly adopted as “Graham Cracker” (Grandmother) by dear friends Rick Deweese, Jeremy Stoots, Cole and Jennifer Moreland, Crafton Carter, Jessica Banks, and David Steele.

A proud graduate of North High School, Connie went on to attend THE Ohio State University. Her life was a tapestry of diverse interests and talents. Above all, she cherished her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. While raising her family, she blended her love (and extensive knowledge) of sports and her culinary gifts by sharing her expertise through articles published in the local newspaper. Her popular weekly column, “Connie’s Corner,” delighted readers with recipes and cooking tips. Later, she turned her passion into a thriving wedding cake business, bringing joy to countless celebrations.

Connie’s love for horses was a lifelong thread. In her youth, she spent countless hours working in stables and riding, and in later years, she owned a stable of racehorses under Yee’s Thoroughbred Stables. An avid reader with an insatiable curiosity, Connie devoured books of all genres, finding inspiration and adventure in their pages. Smart and articulate, Connie channeled her sharp mind into a successful career as an excellent paralegal, showcasing her ability to excel in yet another field.

Serving God and other people was also very important to Connie. She volunteered her time to teach 8th-grade girls in Sunday School, went on two foreign mission trips, and delivered First Aid for the American Red Cross. On one of her mission trips to Israel, she was baptized in the Jordan River—an experience that held deep meaning for her faith. Connie’s life was marked by her boundless energy, her devotion to those she loved, and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful people at Compassus Care Hospice, especially her dedicated caregivers, Tyler and Lillian, whose compassionate care brought comfort to her final days.

A passionate advocate for youth and sports, Connie’s wish was to forgo traditional flowers in favor of a meaningful tribute. In lieu of flowers, she requested that friends bring sports equipment to the funeral or donate directly to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, so children could experience the joy of play and teamwork she so cherished.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Tidd’s Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH 43026, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place afterward at Union Cemetery.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
