Dale E. Stubbs, age 93, a resident of Logan Elm Health Care, Circleville, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. He was born January 14, 1918 in Pike County, Ohio. The son of Charles and Sally (Worthington) Stubbs.
Dale was an area farmer and Monroe Township Trustee for 24 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Phillipines and Japan.
Preceded in death by parents, wife, Irene; 5 sisters Helen, Mary Esther, Arta, Edna, & Thelma; 3 brothers Glenn, Roy, and Finley; sons-in-law, Richard Koch and Jim Blanchard.
He is survived by daughters Linda Blanchard of Rotterdam, N.Y., Joyce Koch of Chillicothe; son, Mark Allen Stubbs of Circleville; grandchildren Rick Koch (Cherol), Beth (Jamie) DeLuca, and Jeff Woodward; great grandchildren Adam and Ean Koch, Ericka Ponte, Xavier Andrew DeLuca; great-great grandchildren, Elias & Ethan Ponte.
A Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Family will receive friends from 11 – 1 prior to the service. The burial will follow in Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport. The Circleville Amvets Post #2256 will perform a military service for the Army veteran.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorial contributions to the church or charity of your choice.
