Dallas J. Upperman

Dallas J. Upperman, age 94, of Hilliard, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008. He was a U.S. Army Combat Veteran WWII serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Retired Custom Woodworker H.J. Upperman and Sons, Inc., Carpenter’s Local 200 for 33 years, retired City of Hilliard, Hilliard Senior Center Custodian/Maintenance, 12 years, retired Highlights for Children Package Assembler, 8 years. Hilliard VFW post 4931, Charter member & Life member, Hilliard American Legion Post 614, 34 years, and member of Hilliard Senior Center, 27 years. Preceded in death by son Michael Dallas Upperman, father Henry (Jack) Upperman, mother Grace Alice (O’Neal) Upperman, wife Rebecca B. Upperman, brothers Lawrence and Kenneth Upperman, sisters Berdeen Conroy, Vera Riddle, Juanita Upperman and Alice May Boerger, grandsons Robert L. Vance II and James R. Vance, great granddaughter Sarah K. Munsell, son-in-law Robert L. Vance, and step-daughter Phoebe Ann (Baisden) Hamilton. Survived by daughters, Lisa Upperman of Hilliard and Patricia (Gene) Kelly of Flint MI, step-daughters Linda (Bill) Ward of Delaware and Lora Gilfilen of Columbus, step-son Oscar (Lola) Baisden of Plumwood, sisters Erdeen Kearney of Grove City, and Minnie (Melvin) Shaver of Hilliard, 12 grand children, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard; where funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday with pastor Danny Vanscoy officiating. Interment Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
