Dan J. Schmalenberger

Dan J. Schmalenberger, 77, of Hilliard, passed October 15, 2013 at OSU Wexner Medical Center East, born December 24, 1935 in Greenville, OH, lived most of life in Hilliard, attended Ohio State University where he ran track, driver at Consolidated Freightways for 36 years, avid softball player, water skier, snow skier, and boater. Long standing member of the Hilliard United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence D. and Marguerite (Wilson) Schmalenberger. Survived by his wife Barbara (Meek-Spangler) Schmalenberger, children Tim (Betsy) Schmalenberger, Lynne (Dave) Schmalenberger-Brown, Lori (Steve) Schmalenberger-Hutta-Harrup, Mark (Kim) Spangler, Melanie Spangler-Grogan-Gagnon, Tom (Ronda) Spangler and his cherished 15 grandchildren, Tyler, Kyla and Megan Schmalenberger, Taylor, Mackenzie & Sydney Brown, Christopher and Cailey Hutta, Brandie and Sean Grogan, Chelsea, Caitlain and John Spangler, Thomas and Lauren Spangler. Friends may call at TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich Street, Hilliard, OH, Sunday October 20th, 2-5 pm, Funeral service will be held Monday, October 21st, 11 am at Hilliard United Methodist Church, 5445 Scioto-Darby Road, Hilliard, OH 43026.
