Daniel R. Goss, age 73, of Dublin, died at home on Friday, 9/21. An aficianado of American history, hard work and modesty; family grill master, chauffeur, and photographer, who enjoyed capturing the waves and horizons from Hilton Head Island; amateur gardener whose work was enjoyed by all. Selfless guardian of family members and pets; proud graduate of The Ohio State University, and enthusiast for its academic - and of course - athletic pursuits; taught his daughters everything they know about sports and fostered compassion in them; relished autumn Saturdays with his wife Linda, involving long walks and OSU football games. Born in Columbus, OH to the late Inez and Raymond Goss, knew the city like the back of his hand; through his recent work in commercial real estate for Coldwell Banker, thoughtfully procured spaces for locally-owned businesses and non-profits. Deeply valued his ties to family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues from his years as president of Chemical Mortgage Co. and member of Dublin Community Church. Most encountered his kind, sensitive spirit - the lucky ones caught a glimpse of his wit. Dan is survived by wife Linda, daughters Melissa Treuhaft (Jay, grandson Max) and Cindy (Matt Morris), brother David (Mary Lee), brother-in-law Eugene Stong (Marcia), sister-in-law Mary Stong, and sister-in-law Emily Myers (Robert) and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. An informal visitation will be held 2-4 PM Sunday 9/30 at Tidd Family Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026. All are welcome to share favorite memories of Dan. A private burial will be held at Union Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
