David Feeney

David Feeney, age 72, of Hilliard, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015, at home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. David was a graduate of South High School, Columbus State Community College and Park University. He served as a Navy SeaBee in Vietnam, Thailand and Laos and retired from Ohio Cat in 2010 after working for Caterpillar as a heavy equipment mechanic for many years. In addition, he served as an adjunct faculty member in the Computer Science Department at Columbus State for 14 years. He loved photography and was always on a quest to find the perfect picture. David is preceded in death by his mother, Jan Feeney and cherished aunt, Mary (Walter) O'Harra. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie (Edinger) Feeney; children, Melanie Feeney, Andrea (Megan) McNamara and Brian (Vina) Feeney; grandsons, Brett and Josh; brother, Donald Feeney of Marengo, OH; and honorary sister, Carolyn (John) Veit of Groveport, OH; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 2 until time of memorial service at 3 p.m. at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St. in Hilliard. The family would like to profoundly thank Dr. Thomas Sweeney and the staff of Columbus Oncology and Hematology Associates as well as the staff of OhioHealth Hospice for the outstanding care they provided. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or OhioHealth Hospice.
