David Mays

Dave “Bud” Mays, of Hilliard, OH was born in Barboursville, WV on September 24, 1942, son of James R. and Mary M. Mays. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1962 and was active in his local American Legion and National Association of Uniformed Servicemen. Always the endeavoring entrepreneur, Dave worked at Chapman Printing Company in Huntington, WV for 13 years and was most recently the President and proud Owner of CSI Cleaning Services, Ltd.
Even though Dave was suddenly and tragically taken from us on March 12, 2010 in an automobile accident, he will always live on in our memories. As most of you know, Dave was exceptionally proud of his family; most especially his “grandbabies,” Kayla and Xander Mays and their parents, Shane and Shelly Mays.
He is survived by his former wife of 34 years, Sheila K. Mays and their children, daughter, D’Leah Mays Sanders, her husband Bill and their children, Morgan, Kathryn, Brooklyn and Lauren; son, Shane Mays, his wife Shelly, their children, Kayla and Xander; son, Wes Mays. He is also survived by his mother, Mary M. Mays and two sisters Barbara Mays Bishop and Mary Ann Mays Shorts.
His love of hunting, golf, flying and darts were hobbies and passions over the years which brought him much joy.
His family and friends will celebrate Dave’s life Friday night from 6pm to 8pm, at Tidd Funeral Home in Hilliard, Ohio.
