David John Novotny, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away after a year-long battle with multiple myeloma/leukemia on July 28, 2018 in Naples, Florida. David was born June 26, 1950, the son of late Pearl and James Novotny. He is survived by his high school sweetheart Carol (Dripps) Novotny whom he married in 1970, his two daughters Amber (Ryan Wehr) Nolty and Taylor (Ryan) Crandall. David will be forever remembered by his four precious grandchildren Zachary Edward and Bosston David Nolty and Harlow Tereese and Poppy Leonne Crandall. He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law Claudia & David DiRienzo and his sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy & George Peplow, Lawson & Lorie Dripps and Mary (and the late Thomas) Dripps, with many nieces and nephews that will also miss him deeply. After serving his country in the United States Navy, David began his career as an electrician in Florida. He later moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked for Converse Electric and finished his career as Project Manager/Estimator at Mid-City Electric. In David’s free time, he enjoyed bow hunting and fishing and took great pride in his meticulous care of his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00a.m. MONDAY, AUGUST 13, 2018 at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017 where family will greet friends before the Mass beginning at 10:00a.m. MONDAY. The Reverend Matthew Morris will celebrate the Mass. If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Street, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 www.themmrf.org.
