David A. States, age 62 of Mt. Sterling died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born November 6, 1950 in Lima, Ohio.
David was formerly employed at Crop Production Services in Mt. Sterling. He never knew a stranger; loved animals and loved dancing. David served in the US Marine Corp.
Preceded in death by sisters, Linda Labbe and Brenda Chandler; step-father, John Chandler; step-mother, Ruth States; step-sister, Carol Kazmierczak; former wife, Joyce (Houser) States.
He is survived by father, Edward States; mother, Anna Chandler; sister, Sandi Stephens; step-daughter, Missy Burchett; special girlfriend, Denise Sweet; special friend, Kevin Sharon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A Memorial service will be held 7 pm on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, Mt. Sterling. Family will receive friends beginning 6 pm. In keeping with his wishes, cremation was requested. Burial at a later date will be in Highlawn Cemetery in Washington Court House.
