David W. Wildermuth, 53, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, after a long and hard fight with Multiple Myeloma. Dave was the loving husband of Jennifer Brown Wildermuth for 20 years. They met through the Alive newspaper ad for singles. It was love at first sight.
Dave is survived by his daughter, Chelsea K. Wildermuth, of Columbus, Ohio and son, Andrew D. Wildermuth, of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He was actively involved in his children’s lives attending baseball, softball and football games, and high school plays. Dave was always teaching Jennifer, Chelsea, and Andrew everything he knew about cars, engines, and other life lessons he knew would be needed after he was gone.
He was born on April 29, 1968 to Ronald and Bonnie Wildermuth at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dave was his mother’s birthday gift. Dave graduated from Westerville North in 1987. He played football and competed in wrestling.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Wildermuth, brother, Ronnie Wildermuth and his father-in-law, R. Thomas Brown. In addition to his wife, children, and mother, Dave was also survived by his brothers, Randy Wildermuth of Westerville, Ohio, Rick Wildermuth (Jan) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, mother-in-law, Donna L. Brown, of Gahanna, Ohio, and sister-in-law, Jodi S. Brown Ware (Shane) of Thornton, CO. Dave also had multiple nieces and nephews at the time of his passing.
Dave loved cars - restoring, selling, racing, and shopping for cars. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding, jet skiing, camping, and his dogs, Bear, Toby, Missie, Rocky, and Maggie. He was an avid OSU football fan.
The family will receive visitors at MIFFLIN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 123 Granville Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230 on MONDAY, MARCH 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. After the visitation, the Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m.
